Goal achievement

There are effective ways to reach your goals.

Even if the conditions are the same, some people can easily achieve their goals, while others cannot.

Whether the goal is set by yourself or by someone other than yourself or the organization to which you belong.

Why does it happen that even if we build a highly fair and transparent personnel system, introduce MBO, and management thoroughly manages progress with indicators such as KPI, the desired result will not be obtained?

Why does it happen within the framework of limited time for everyone, that there are some people who accumulate self-actualization as they wish and realize their dreams , while there are others who postpone the realization of their dreams forever?

There are effective ways to reach your goals.

The premise of coaching is to believe in the potential of people.

Six important factors for achieving goals revealed by coaching

1. Underlying values

Setting goals does not necessarily mean that a person's agreement to achieve their goals is formed. For example, some people do not value the act of having a goal. That doesn't mean it's wrong.

What if your goals are consistent with the values and standards that you value? Sooner or later it will lead to actual action towards achieving that goal.

Based on the relationship of trust with a client, a coach first explores the values and standards of the client. The client then sets feasible goals in the way that is most desirable to him or her and explores possible options. As a result, the coach can elicit a genuine commitment from the client to reach the goal  by his or her ideal deadline.

2.Clear vision

Many people may vaguely think that having a vision has some positive effect on achieving their goals.

In the first place, a vision is a future outlook or ideal image that people and organizations draw based on "value that they want to provide to the world", and in many cases it becomes highly universal, so it is easy for people to sympathize with it.

Also, as the etymology suggests, vision is a visually descriptive future outlook.

It is said that people rely heavily on the information ability of vision among their five senses, and by clarifying their vision and aligning it with their goals, it can be expected to have an effect that appeals to people's hearts. Coaches help clients develop a clear vision with coaching that incorporates NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) elements.

3.Realization of mission

It is an important process to embody the vision in the form of concrete ideas, thoughts, and goals so that the vision drawn by the client is not made into a desk theory.

From those statements, we'll dig deeper into the content, focusing on the options that the client can actually act on.

Furthermore, by forming a practical mission based on the strengths of the client and formulating a concrete strategy, a practical action plan for achieving the goal will be completed.

4.Feasibility

Even if the vision is realized based on the values and clarified values, if it is extremely unlikely to be realized for the client, it will not be a strong commitment from the bottom of the heart, so action is involved. The results will be severe.

Coaches help clients delve into the essential and practical visions, scrutinize them, and make them feasible goals.

Goals don't end once set, we'll keep an eye on the status quo at each session and continue to scrutinize possible options to increase feasibility. Sometimes there are goals that are completely different from the original goals, but sometimes they are goals that the client wants to achieve from the bottom of his or her heart that he or she didn't even realize.

5.Category of responsibility

In a process of increasing  feasibility of goals, the coach's  task of verifying the client's responsibilities from all angles is also very important. From an objective point of view, it is necessary for the coach to make a final inspection (question) as to what kind of positive and negative impact the client's goals have on the surrounding environment and society, including human relationships.

A coach takes a bird's-eye view while being close to the client, sometimes asking questions at the conceptual level, and analyzing the words chosen by the client in detail down to the meta level. This helps clients to derive objective and multifaceted thinking without becoming too subjective.

6.With a time limit

You will need a time frame to see if you have achieved your goals.

You may have heard the phrases, "I have a habit of always procrastinating what I should do, or " I haven't had a clear deadline yet."

But what will it happen unless they change their mind or attitude against their goals or time frames?

Furthermore, if people unknowingly feel the "necessity" behind the word "what to do", they may be braking the desire to "really want to do it."

A coach removes the restrictive beliefs (inappropriate beliefs) that can stop a client from acting towards a goal with practical questions and helps the client achieve the breakthrough by the desired deadline.
